I am happy that you are here, visiting my site to learn more about my Yoga practice and about Yoga.
As I often share with my students, 'yoga' is a BIG word. Yoga practices have been in evolution and development for thousands of years. The practice of yoga allows practitioners to develop ever increasing freedom, joy and ease.
Physically, yoga challenges the muscular skeletal systems of the body to be stronger and more resilient. I am a big believer in the importance of a strong spine and good posture. Alignment and spinal well being are at the heart of every class. It is important that feet and hips are balanced, strong and open in all ranges of motion in order to be able to move through the world with grace, power and agility. Regardless of age or current physical state, yoga practices can help you feel better in your body.
Why Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is the application of yoga tools and principals to empower clients toward better mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health. As a complement to traditional medicine, yoga therapy programs utilize individual sessions and small groups, facilitating life style changes with yoga posture (asana), breath work (pranayama), meditation, mantra, mudra and svadyhaha (self study).
Individuals with health related goals such as: improved movement, strength or balance, increased energy, balanced emotions or deeper spiritual connection are ideal candidates for Yoga Therapy.
Yoga, Health, Faith and An Intention to Live My Best Life...
Lucinda’s personal yoga practice includes exploring a variety of yoga styles and teachers, time in nature and a home practice of meditation and pranayama. She has been teaching yoga in Eau Claire since 2018 and enjoys seeing the progress her dedicated students are able to make. Yoga, with all of its eight limbs and the yoga sutras, have been a beacon of light for Lucinda, strengthening her body and mind and deepening her Christian faith and opening her heart to all faith traditions.
“Yoga is the Science of Happiness. We are meant to experience peace and joy. We are meant to be well. We already have all of the tools within us for ease in the mind and body. Yoga addresses all layers of a person… physical, spiritual, mental and energetic to help uncover the things that keep us from that sense of well-being. Once we have achieved greater health and wellness for ourselves, we are better equipped to be in relationship with others and share with others."
